The Faculty of Art and Design, Southern University College is proud to share that our current Bachelor of Industrial Design (Honours) student Bryan Lim Li Quan, together with our outstanding alumnus Ong Chia Yong, have selected and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) to participate in The Selects: Origins 1.0, a prestigious platform that showcases emerging design talents.The Journey of The Selects Showcase
As part of this programme, young designers were given the remarkable opportunity to engage directly with manufacturers through factory visits. These visits allowed participants to collaborate closely with industry partners, refine their innovative ideas, and transform design concepts into practical solutions. Beyond a simple tour, the experience provided valuable exposure to real production processes while strengthening partnerships between designers and manufacturers.
This achievement reflects the strong design capabilities cultivated at the Faculty, as our industrial design student and alumni represent the university through this meaningful industry collaboration.The results of these collaborations have showcased at The Selects: Origins 1.0 during the Malaysian International Furniture Fair 2026.
