Southern University College Chant, Slogan & Mascot Competition Winners Announced

The winners of the Southern University College Chant, Slogan & Mascot Competition were officially announced and awarded.

In the Chant & Slogan Category, Wong Kar Min, a student of the Diploma in Chinese Studies, won with the slogan: “Shine with Southern, Create Brilliance Together.” “Yao” (Shine) symbolizes inner pride and proactive energy, radiating the spirit of Southern University College to society. “Wo” (We/I) unites the identity of all Southern members. “Southern” points to our alma mater and the place where dreams set sail.“Create Together” emphasizes teamwork and collaboration. “Brilliance” embodies academic achievements and the richness of campus culture. It stands as a shared aspiration of all who belong to Southern University College — to build together a future that is brighter, more radiant, and full of boundless possibilities.

In the Mascot Category, Tai Yu Jian, a Bachelor of Design, Computer Graphic Design student, won with “MONDING.” Inspired by the Ding of Southern UC, the design combines the solemnity and strength of ancient civilization with the playful, lively traits of a monkey, creating a small yet powerful character. The name “MONDING” is a pun in local dialect meaning “amazing,” reflecting the mascot’s qualities of strength, stability, and agility — making it both majestic and adorable.

南方大学学院口号、标语及吉祥物征集赛的获奖名单正式公布并颁奖。

口号标语组由中文专业文凭学生黄佳敏创作的“耀我南方，共创辉煌”获奖。其中，“耀”象征内心的荣耀与行动力，将南院精神照亮社会；“我”凝聚南院人的身份认同；“南方”指向母校与梦想起航之地；“共创”强调团结合作；“辉煌”承载学术成果与校园文化情感。即凝聚使命，激励南院人携手开创光明未来。

在吉祥物组中，电脑绘制学士学位学生戴宇健脱颖而出，荣获该组奖项。他创作的《猴鼎》以学校“四方之鼎”为灵感，将古文明象征的力量与尊贵融入头盔及服饰，同时结合猴子活泼可爱的形象，打造出“小体型却拥有大力量”的反差角色。“猴鼎”在方言中与“好厉害”谐音，强化了角色“强、稳、灵”的特质，既威武又萌感十足。
