On November 21, Southern University College held the 2025 Chinese Ambassador Scholarship Award Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony of Confucius Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Southern University College.
The event was graced by H.E. Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador of China to Malaysia as well as Dato’ Vincent Tan Meng Seng, Datuk Seri Teo Shiok Fu, Datin Teh Hwee Tiang, Mr. Mok Chek Hou, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Chuah Joon Huang from Southern University College, Professor Qiu Feng, Vice President of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and directors of other Confucius Institutes in Malaysia.
The Chinese Ambassador Scholarship aims to encourage and support outstanding undergraduate and diploma students who are committed to promoting China–Malaysia friendship. Applicants must have a CGPA of 3.80 or above and actively participate in cross-state cultural exchanges, volunteer services, or academic competitions.
The Confucius Institute is a non-profit educational organization authorized by the Chinese International Education Foundation and jointly established by China and partner countries. Southern University College, in collaboration with Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has jointly established Confucius Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Southern University College. This is Malaysia’s first Confucius Institute with a focus on Traditional Chinese Medicine, dedicated to creating a comprehensive platform that integrates Chinese language education, TCM practice, academic research, and professional training.
11月21日，南方大学学院举行2025年中国大使奖学金颁发仪式暨南方大学学院中医孔子学院开幕仪式。中国驻马来西亚大使欧阳玉靖阁下、南方大学学院董事长拿督陈洺臣、副董事长拿汀郑惠珍、署理董事长拿督斯里张学富、理事长莫泽浩先生、校长蔡润煌教授，中国天津中医药大学副校长邱峰教授、以及马来西亚其他孔子学院院长等嘉宾共同出席了仪式。
中国大使奖学金旨在鼓励与支持品学兼优、致力于促进中马友好的在籍本科及文凭生。申请者须具备累计CGPA 3.80 以上，并积极参与跨州文化交流、志愿服务或学术竞赛。
孔子学院是由中国国际中文教育基金会授权，中国与各国合作设立的非营利性教育机构。南方大学学院携手中国天津中医药大学，共同建设“南方大学学院中医孔子学院”。南方大学学院中医孔子学院是马来西亚首家以中医为特色的孔子学院，致力于打造集中文教育、中医药实践、学术研究及职业培训于一体的综合性平台。
