🎉 Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony – Strengthening Heritage Through Design Collaboration 🎉

On 26 February 2026, a meaningful milestone was achieved at Gelang Patah Heritage with the official signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Faculty of Art and Design, Southern University College and Pertubuhan Gerak Warisan Negeri Johor.

This collaboration marks a shared commitment to preserving and promoting local heritage through creative design, education, and community engagement. The partnership will bring together academic expertise and cultural heritage initiatives, providing students with valuable real-world experience while contributing to the cultural vibrancy of Gelang Patah.

The collaboration supports the upcoming cultural exhibition project “Gelang Patah Impressions”, where students from the Faculty of Art and Design will serve as designers, applying creative thinking, cultural research, and exhibition design to showcase the unique heritage and stories of Gelang Patah. The project is led by FAD senior lecturer, Mr. Yew Leong Fei as the person in charge, together with two FAD students.

This initiative reflects a strong industry–community–academic partnership, empowering students with experiential learning opportunities while celebrating local identity and heritage through innovative visual storytelling.

We look forward to the positive impact this collaboration will bring to the community and to nurturing future creative talents who contribute meaningfully to cultural preservation.

2026年2月26日，在振林山文化遗产区举行了一项具有重要意义的里程碑活动 —— 南方大学学院艺术与设计学院与柔佛州文化遗产推动协会正式签署合作备忘录。

此次合作象征双方共同致力于通过创意设计、教育实践与社区参与，推动与传承本地文化遗产。该伙伴关系结合学术专业与文化保育行动，不仅为学生提供宝贵的真实项目实践经验，同时也为振林山社区文化发展注入新的活力。

南方大学学院出席代表包括院长赵佩娟助理教授、副院长王依琳高级讲师、主任陈思敏助理教授、游亮辉高级讲师及设计系与传播系学生。

柔佛州文化遗产推动协会代表包括主席郑永裕先生及郑凯聪先生。

本次合作将支持即将举行的文化展览项目 “Gelang Patah Impressions（振林山印象）”。艺术与设计学院的学生将担任设计师角色，通过创意思维、文化研究与展览设计，呈现振林山独特的历史与文化故事。项目由游亮辉先生担任负责人，并由两位艺术与设计学院学生设计师共同参与执行。

该合作充分体现产业、社区与学术三方紧密结合的伙伴关系，在推动体验式学习的同时，也通过创新的视觉叙事方式，展现与传承地方文化身份与历史价值。

艺术与设计学院亦借此向柔佛州文化遗产推动协会表达诚挚的感谢与感恩，感谢此次宝贵的合作邀约与信任，让师生们有机会共同参与文化传承与社区建设。
