We are thrilled to announce that students from the Faculty of Art and Design — specifically from the Diploma in Industrial Design and Diploma in Advertising Design programmes — have won the Float Design Competition organized by Thoong Nyien (Hakka) Association, Johor Bahru! 
Even more exciting, their winning artwork has been selected as the main theme for the 2026 Johor Chingay Parade, marking an incredible achievement for our students and institution. Additionally, our students’ artwork reflects SDG principles by contributing meaningfully to social and cultural development.
On 4th February 2026, which coincided with “Lìchūn (立春)” in the Lunar Calendar, the winning students, together with their lecturer Ms. Tan Yean Ne, attended the official press release hosted by the Thoong Nyien (Hakka) Association, Johor Bahru.
The press conference was held in conjunction with the announcement of the Association’s 100th Anniversary Celebration activities, with the Float Design Competition highlighted as one of the major programmes featured during the Chingay Parade. 
We are immensely proud of our students’ creativity and dedication, and we sincerely thank Ms. Tan for her invaluable guidance. Congratulations once again to our talented students!

我们非常荣幸地宣布，来自 艺术与设计学院（Faculty of Art and Design） 工业设计专业文凭（Diploma in Industrial Design） 及 广告设计专业文凭（Diploma in Advertising Design） 的学生，在 柔佛新山客家公会主办的花车设计比赛 中成功夺冠！
更令人振奋的是，他们的作品将成为 2026 年柔佛古庙游神嘉年华（Chingay Parade）主花车主题设计，为学生与学院带来极高荣誉！此外，我们学生的作品通过对社会与文化发展的积极贡献，充分体现了可持续发展目标（SDG）的原则。
在 2026 年 2 月 4 日（农历“立春”），得奖学生在导师陈燕妮讲师陪同下，受邀参加由柔佛新山客家公会举办的记者发布会。当天的记者会是客家公会宣布其 百周年庆典系列活动 的重要环节，而花车设计比赛则是将在游神大游行中亮相的主要活动之一。
我们衷心为学生们的创意与努力喝彩，也感谢陈燕妮讲师一直以来的悉心指导。再次恭喜所有优秀的得奖学生！
