研究生与研究学院（IGSR）成立于2013年，主要使命为通过设制适当的硕博课程，以及推动相应的学术研究项目，以应对区域化和全球化的需求与挑战。

研究生单位
研究生单位主要负责校内硕博课程的设立、审查与评估事宜。研究生单位与校内各部门密切合作，以确保本校所有硕博课程从录取，指导到评估程序都符合相关标准。
南方大学学院硕博课程兼顾学术与实用要求，目前共有专业学位、研究学位及混合学位三种课程形式供选择。
研究单位
研究单位主要负责与本校各院系协调管理校内外的学术研究活动、研究经费与研讨会费用资助事宜。
已设立的研究中心有马来西亚研究中心、商业与经济研究中心、计算机与电子工程中心、一带一路与中国研究中心。
