Southern University College was honoured to participate in the Forum on Private Higher Institutions during 2025 Chinese Education Summit held on 25 October 2025 at Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall.
Representing SUC, Prof. Dr. Wong Yoon Wah (Dean, Faculty of Chinese Studies) and Prof. Dr. Khor Boon Eng (Head, Department of Chinese Studies) were invited as keynote speakers to share their insights, titled “21st Century University Vision and Mission: The Challenges and Opportunities of Southern University College,” Prof. Wong highlighted the transformation of SUC from its founding ideals into a globally oriented institution rooted in Chinese educational values are one that embraces innovation, multilingualism, and holistic education.
SUC extends its sincere appreciation to United Chinese School Committee’ Association of Malaysia for organizing this meaningful platform to advance dialogue on the sustainable development of Chinese education.
We are also proud to note that Asst. Prof. Dr. Tan Ming Zheng, Director of Student Affairs Office and Assistant Professor, Department of General Studies delivered a keynote address during the summit “Civic Education in Democratic Transition” highlighted that today’s younger generations face complex social and political challenges shaped by fragmented information from social media. He stressed that civic education should nurture rational thinking, inclusiveness, and respect for differences in an increasingly diverse and polarized world.

南方大学学院于2025年10月25日假吉隆坡暨雪兰莪中华大会堂举行的“2025年华文教育高峰会议”之“华社民办大专论坛”中受邀出席并发表演讲。
南方大学学院代表出席的中华语言文化学院院长王润华教授及中文系主任许文荣教授以题“二十一世纪大学理念：南方大学学院三张成绩单的挑战与机遇”分享了华社民办大专的办学历程与转型经验，并介绍南方大学学院以华文教育为本、迈向国际化的办学愿景。
南方大学学院谨此向马来西亚华校董事联合会总会表示诚挚的感谢，感谢贵会的邀请及筹办这有意义的平台，以推动华文教育的可持续发展论坛。
此外，学务长兼通识教育学系陈鸣诤助理教授在“民主转型下的公民教育”为题发表演讲，指出公民教育应培养年轻世代在多元与对立的时代中保持理性、包容与尊重差异的能力。
