🎤 “My Dynamic Campus: The SouthTurn” Singing Competition at Southern UC 🎶

On the evening of August 14, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., Southern University College successfully hosted the long-awaited singing competition “My Dynamic Campus: The SouthTurn” at the Main Hall. The event received an overwhelming response with enthusiastic participation from students.

After several rounds of preliminary selections, ten contestants advanced to the grand finals. To add excitement and suspense, the performance order was determined by a live electronic roulette draw. The finalists delivered outstanding performances, with Sin Min Hui from the Department of Journalism & Communication Studies winning the championship along with the “Most Popularity Award.”

Meanwhile, Tey Ying Qi and Angeline Shrilyn Hii Zi Xuan from the Department of Early Childhood Education secured second and third place respectively, with Angeline also voted the winner of the “Best Costume Design Award.”

In addition to the contestants’ impressive performances, the event was further enlivened by captivating showcases from the Wushu Club, DDC, and the MSK band, as well as special performances by guest judge MorRa and a mystery guest. The evening culminated in an exciting lucky draw session, bringing the festive atmosphere to its peak.

“The SouthTurn” was more than just a musical celebration — it provided an important platform for students to showcase their talents and passion. Upholding the spirit of “Southern Magnetism, Dynamic Campus,” the event encouraged students to actively participate in campus life and further enriched the university’s vibrant cultural scene.

经过初赛层层海选，共有十位选手晋级决赛。为增加趣味与悬念，出场顺序由现场电子轮盘随机决定。十强选手在舞台上展开激烈角逐，最终由大众传播系的沈敏慧勇夺冠军，并同时获颁“人气奖”；来自幼教系的郑颖琦与许紫萱则分获亚军与季军，而许紫萱亦凭借亮眼造型，获得观众投选的“最佳服装奖”。

除选手表现外，武术社、DDC及MSK乐队的演出，特邀评审 MorRa 与神秘嘉宾的献唱，都为赛事增添无限亮点。尾声的现场抽奖环节更是点燃全场热情，将氛围推至高潮。
