南方大学学院中文系是马来西亚民办大专学府中第一个被教育部批准设立的中文系。中文专业文凭课程旨在大学预科阶段培养学生对中国语言文学的兴趣。本系课程侧重于中国文学、历史、哲学以及现代西方人文科学。 此外，本系还将马来西亚华文文学和马来西亚文化纳入课程的主要框架之中。
