Southern University College Library, Malaysian Chinese Literature Centre, and Museum and Art Gallery recently co-hosted a filmmaking talk with director Chong Keat Aun at Lecture Hall 4A.Director Chong Keat Aun shared how his 19 years of research and cultural work helped him make his films. He said his movies often face problems with censorship because they talk about sensitive topics in Malaysian history, like ethnicity and religion. However, Chong is firm in his belief that movies are a way to talk with people. He will continue to use his films to show Malaysia’s culture and stories, and also asked everyone to help protect our country’s history and traditions.<\/p>\n
