Field research is one of the essential methods in academic studies, and its implementation varies depending on the researcher\u2019s background, environmental conditions, and research subjects. Ethnographic and historical field research is not only a research tool but also a crucial means of preserving folk memory and cultural heritage. By engaging directly with the field, researchers can obtain firsthand materials that supplement existing historical records, ensuring the authenticity of historical narratives. This process helps prevent future generations from being influenced by incomplete or manipulated historical accounts due to gaps in documentation.<\/div>\n

Lee Yong Kew is a well-known local historian and writer, a columnist for Sin Chew E-newspaper, a Taiping historical and heritage guide, and a traditional yueqin (moon lute) musician. He has authored several publications, including \u201cThe Man-Eating Crocodile: Folktales from Old Taiping\u201d, \u201cThe Soul Returns to Heaven\u201d, and \u201cThe Ninth Day of the First Lunar Month: The Birthday of the Jade Emperor\u201d.<\/div>\n

\u8bb2\u5ea7\u7b80\u4ecb\uff1a<\/div>\n
