“The Collection, Preservation, and Research of Malaysian Chinese Drama Historical Materials” seminar, jointly organized by Southern University College Malaysian Chinese Literature Centre, Library, and Faculty of Chinese Studies, was successfully held on 9th July in Room 125 of the Main Building at Southern University College. Speaker Dr. Sim Kok Meng, Chairman of The Sun Theatre, shared his team’s challenging journey of collecting oral history and fieldwork since 2000. Despite chronic funding shortages and surviving a devastating flood, the non-profit group persevered, driven by a passion to uncover lost heritage.
To raise public awareness, The Sun Theatre launched the “Gold Ribbon” project in 2018 to save endangered historical materials. Looking forward, they are preparing for book publication while hoping to digitalize the documents, preserving a century of theatre history for the future.
由南方大学学院马华文学馆、图书馆及中华语言文化学院联合主办的“马来西亚华文戏剧史料的收集、保存和研究”专题讲座于7月9日在南方大学学院125会议室顺利举行。
本次讲座特别邀请到心向太阳剧坊主席沈国明博士主讲。他深入分享了团队自2000年成立以来，历经水灾重创后走入街头与校园重新出发的坎坷历程。尽管文史工作长期面临经费匮乏的现实困境，但秉持着“历史文物正等待被挖掘”的使命感，团队依然坚持在各地开展田野调查与口述历史采集。
为了唤醒大众对史料价值的重视，剧坊自2018年起发起“抢救百年马华话剧史料运动”并推广“金丝带”宣导运动，呼吁社会各界给予前线文史工作者更多支持。在展望未来方面，他们将积极筹备出版相关书籍，希望日后持续把得来不易的文献进行系统化整理与数字化保存，让尘封的百年戏剧历史与文化根源得以代代相传。
