Southern University College Research Team Secures Internal Funding for International Collaboration on Digital Literacy

A research team from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has successfully secured funding through the Southern University College Research Fund to undertake an international research project.

The initiative brings together an interdisciplinary team of researchers, reflecting Southern University College’s commitment to addressing emerging challenges in education and digital society.

The team comprises Ms. Nur Nadirah Syaira Md Nazir, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Fadel Arandas, Ms. Asna Zukrina Binti Ahmad Zukni, and Ms. Norshafinaz Binti Abdul Sani from Southern University College, in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Abdelmohsen Hamed Okela of Minia University, Egypt, and Prof. Dr. Abdulkrim Ziani of Al Ain University, United Arab Emirates.

Drawing on expertise in communication studies, digital literacy, education, and interdisciplinary research, the collaboration aims to strengthen international academic partnerships and advance research on contemporary digital issues.

The project addresses emerging challenges at the intersection of digital literacy, education, and media environments, with the goal of generating meaningful academic and societal impact.

This achievement further strengthens Southern University College’s research capacity and growing engagement in international research collaboration.
