Southern University College (SUC) proudly represented Malaysia at the Hainan International Youth Cultural Exchange Programme 2026, held from 19 to 26 May 2026 in Hainan Province, China. Hosted by Hainan University under the theme “Youth Nexus: Bridging Horizons in the Free Trade Port”, the programme brought together youth participants from around the world for academic exchange, cultural immersion, and international networking.
The SUC delegation comprised Ms Asna Zukrina Ahmad Zukni (FHSS), Mr Chong Chia Min (FAD), and three Mass Communication students: Cheh Qi Qing, Teoh Min Ming, and Jewel Lim Yi Tong. Throughout the programme, participants visited Hainan University, innovation parks, cultural institutions, and the Wenchang Aerospace Supercomputing Centre, while also experiencing eco-cultural water rafting at Wuzhishan Red Canyon.
A key highlight was the opportunity to connect with participants from Indonesia, Thailand, Zimbabwe, Cambodia, and other countries. Through cultural exchange activities, participants broadened their global perspectives and built meaningful international friendships. Teoh Min Ming and Jewel Lim Yi Tong also served as volunteer translators during a museum visit, assisting international participants in understanding the exhibits and cultural narratives.
The delegation achieved notable success, with Cheh Qi Qing receiving the Best Content Creation Award and Teoh Min Ming being recognised with the Best Participant Award. In addition, Ms Asna Zukrina Ahmad Zukni and the three students were interviewed by Chinese media organisations, including HKBTV and Hainan Daily, further enhancing SUC’s international visibility.
Overall, the programme provided valuable learning experiences, cultural exposure, and global networking opportunities while strengthening SUC’s international presence and fostering future academic and cultural collaborations.
南方大学学院（Southern University College，SUC）于2026年5月19日至26日代表马来西亚参加在中国海南省举行的“2026中外青年海南文化交流活动”。本次活动由海南大学主办，以“青年纽带：联通自贸港，共绘新未来”为主题，汇聚来自世界各地的青年代表，共同参与学术交流、文化体验及国际交流活动。
南方大学学院代表团由人文与社会科学学院（FHSS）新闻与传播学系讲师阿斯娜·祖克丽娜（Asna Zukrina Ahmad Zukni）、艺术与设计学院（FAD）讲师张嘉敏（Chong Chia Min），以及三位大众传播专业学生——谢绮卿（Cheh Qi Qing）、张敏明（Teoh Min Ming）和林怡彤（Jewel Lim Yi Tong）组成。活动期间，代表团参访了海南大学、创新创业园区、文化机构及文昌航天超算中心，并参与五指山红峡谷生态漂流活动，深入了解海南自由贸易港的发展成果、文化特色及科技创新。
本次活动的一大亮点是与来自印度尼西亚、泰国、津巴布韦、柬埔寨等国家的青年代表进行交流。通过文化分享与互动合作，参与者不仅拓展了国际视野，也建立了深厚友谊。此外，张敏明与林怡彤在博物馆参访期间担任志愿翻译员，协助国际参与者了解展览内容及文化背景。
南方大学学院代表团在活动中表现优异，其中谢绮卿荣获“最佳内容创作奖”，张敏明荣获“最佳参与者奖”。此外，阿斯娜·祖克丽娜讲师及三位学生亦接受了中国媒体采访，包括HKBTV及《海南日报》，进一步提升了南方大学学院的国际知名度与影响力。
总体而言，本次活动为参与者提供了宝贵的学习、文化交流及国际合作机会，不仅丰富了个人成长经历，也进一步加强了南方大学学院的国际联系，并为未来的学术与文化合作奠定良好基础。
