A team of three staff and five students from Southern University College was selected to participate in the 2025 Hainan International Youth Cultural Exchange Program held from 23 to 29 November 2025. Organized by Hainan University and the Hainan International Culture Exchange Center, the program gathered 50 youth participants from over ten countries under the theme “Ride with the Tide: When the Youth Meets the South China Sea.”
Representing SUC were students Teo Jia Feng and Hong Jia Qi (FHSS), Quah Ji Zhi and Tan Kie Tong (FCS), and Chong Yan Ting (FAD). Participants enjoyed exceptional hospitality and enriching activities, including visits to major museums, studio, the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site, and key cultural attractions. Students were tasked to upload social media posts documenting their journey and compete in the Model United Nations Contest, earning two Excellence Awards for their creative cultural promotion of Hainan.
Staff members Ms. Lah Wan Yee (FHSS), Chong Yan Ting (FAD) and Lee Cheng Hong (FCS) also strengthened international networking for future collaborations.
