Southern Creative Writing Competition Prize-Giving Ceremony 2025

On 31st October 2025, the Division of English Studies at Southern University College (SUC) held the Southern Creative Writing Competition Prize-Giving Ceremony. This year, the competition witnessed an impressive participation of 155 young writers between the ages of 16 and 19, representing schools from across Johor. The event celebrated the remarkable creativity, originality and storytelling talent, showcasing exceptional linguistic and imaginative flair. The event was further enlivened by the presence of with the presence Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Chuah Joon Huang, President of Southern University College; Prof. CHM. Dr. Leong Loong Kong, Academic Vice President; Ms. Anitha Thiagarajan, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences; Ms. Lim Ying Xuan, Head of the Department of Languages; and Mr. Abdul Mannan, Industrial Advisory Panel Member of the Department of Languages as the keynote speaker.

The recipients of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards proudly walked on stage to receive their well-earned. Bronze awardees receiving RM100, Silver awardees RM200 and Gold awardees RM300, along with certificates of achievement. The competition not only encouraged creative expression but also fostered critical thinking and language mastery. Distinguished guests, lecturers and participating students attended the ceremony to celebrate the achievements of these outstanding writers.

2025年10月31日，南方大学学院（SUC）英语系举办了南方创意写作比赛颁奖典礼。今年，比赛吸引了来自柔佛州各学校的155名16至19岁的优秀学生参赛。本次活动旨在表彰才华横溢的年轻作家，他们展现了卓越的创造力、原创性和叙事能力。

铜奖、银奖和金奖的获得者们自豪地走上舞台，领取他们应得的荣誉。铜奖获得者获得100令吉奖金，银奖获得者获得200令吉奖金，金奖获得者获得300令吉奖金，此外，他们还获得了获奖证书和精美的奖牌，作为他们创作成就的永久纪念。

本次比赛不仅鼓励了创意表达，也培养了学生的批判性思维和语言能力。众多嘉宾、讲师和参赛学生出席了颁奖典礼，共同庆祝这些杰出作家的成就。
