Faculty of Art and Design Strengthens International Presence 🌏

Sichuan Giant Panda National Park Cultural & Creative Industry 2025

The Faculty of Art and Design was honoured to be invited to participate in the “Panda Economy 50-Person Forum” series, officially titled the

Sichuan Giant Panda National Park Cultural & Creative Industry 2025 Annual Conference and Panda Economy Industry Ecosystem Forum.

The event was held at ASEAN College of Art, Chengdu University, China, bringing together scholars, cultural institutions and creative industry leaders from China and abroad to explore the future of panda culture, cultural and creative industries, and international collaboration.

The Faculty was represented by Senior Lecturer Mr. Jeff Yew, who delivered a keynote presentation during

“Seminar Salon A: Industry Practice and Cross-sector Integration”, entitled:

“Viewing Panda Culture from Malaysia: Possibilities of Cross-border Cultural and Creative Industries.”

Drawing on Malaysia’s multicultural society and creative ecosystem, Mr. Yew presented a cross-cultural perspective on panda culture as a global symbol, exploring new pathways for panda IP development through co-creation, tourism, education, and international collaboration.

This invitation reflects strong international recognition of the Faculty’s academic and creative expertise, and highlights Southern University College’s growing influence in international cultural research, cross-border creative practice and regional exchange platforms. Moving forward, the Faculty of Art and Design remains committed to expanding global partnerships and contributing to meaningful cultural dialogue through education and creative innovation.

「四川省大熊猫国家公园文创产业 2025 年会暨熊猫经济产业建圈强链研讨会」。

本次国际级文化与产业交流盛会于 中国 · 成都大学 · 东盟艺术学院 举行，汇聚来自中国及海外的学者、文化机构与文创产业代表，共同探讨大熊猫文化、文创产业发展及国际合作新路径。

本院由艺术与设计学院高级讲师 游亮辉（Jeff Yew） 代表出席，并于

「研讨沙龙 A：产业实践与跨界融合」

进行专题分享，主题为：

《从马来西亚看熊猫文化：跨国文创的可能性》

在分享中，游亮辉高级讲师以马来西亚多元族群社会与文创生态为观察基础，从海外与跨文化视角出发，深入剖析熊猫文化在国际语境中的传播优势与再创造潜力，并提出熊猫 IP 在

跨文化共创

文旅 × 教育 × 文创整合

国际协作机制

中的多元发展方向，展现文创如何成为连接国家与文化的重要媒介。

此次受邀不仅体现中国学术与文创领域对本院专业实力的高度认可，也彰显南方大学学院艺术与设计系在国际文化研究、跨国文创实践与区域交流平台中的积极角色。

未来，本院将持续深化与国际高校及文化机构的合作，透过学术、创意与教育的力量，拓展亚洲乃至全球文创对话的深度与广度。
